Who on earth wants to look back on 2020? What a year. It has really been one of the most eventful and also uneventful years we have experienced. We were closed for a total of 18 weeks all together! Thats over 4 months 😳 But the silver lining of this year was the support we felt from every single one of our clients. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined our waiting list, booked an appointment, left us a review, like, or comment on social media. You kept our independent salon on its feet so THANK YOU! Now lets take a look at our year...

Two Abbie's in our salon completed their apprenticeships this year. Our newly qualified stylist, Abbie, had an amazing year this year! After being our hardworking apprentice for over a year, she finally qualified as a hair stylist in 2020. She has already started to build up a very happy clientele and is creating some amazing cuts and colours. We are so proud! Our digital marketing apprentice, Abby, also completed her apprenticeship this year with a distinction! So it's been a great year for the Abbie's.
With Abbie qualifying as a hairdresser, we had a big apprentice sized hole in our Hair Boutique family. This year we welcomed Siani and Leah to our team as our new apprentices! They're already proving to be essential members of our salon and are loving their time here - even if it is a LOT cleaning and disinfecting.
Early this year we were awarded with the 2020 Exeter Living Award for Hair & Beauty! It was so nice for us to be recognised with a nomination, let alone to actually win! The Exeter Living Awards are given to businesses that are proven to be thriving and successful, but there is also a huge focus on giving back to the community and team members. This is an area we are specifically passionate about, the ethos of our salon is all about making everyone we come into contact with 'feel amazing', whether thats our stylists, clients or the postman. So to be recognised with this Exeter Living Award really made our year!

Weddings looked a little different this year, but we had one of our very own. Our stylist, Kennedy, got married to her husband in August. Ken looked absolutely stunning (with her hair done by Nicky, of course). It was so lovely to have a break from the negativity of the year and see two people who are madly in love come together. That's not to say we don't owe Kennedy a proper Hen do when things are a little more normal 😂
With the new social distancing rules, we had to adjust our rotas to ensure there were not too many stylists in at one time. This meant our stylists working different hours and often late nights. The post-lockdown high demand of appointments also meant a lot of our stylists did overtime to accommodate more of their clients. Our receptionist, Char, had an extraordinary amount of emails and appointment requests to get through this year (not to mention sorting through our waiting list!) our salon would literally not run without her. So this is just us, showing off and appreciating our team. We're looking forward to hopefully a little more normality in 2021 so we can properly wine and dine our hardworking stylists.

We're so pleased to represent the best in Exeter for another year! ❤️
