2020 Winter Hair Trends

December 8, 2020

Winter is quickly approaching and though we've spent much of this year in isolation, the hair trends don't stop appearing. During winter, the cold weather can make our hair feel dry and dull. We're having a look at the favourite winter colours, cuts and styles of the year to bring your hair back to life.

1. Return of the mullet

Love it or hate it, the mullet is back. Popularised this year by Miley Cyrus and TikTok, a mullet is the short cut with a little more warmth for the ears (perfect for winter, right?).

2. Sun kissed? in winter?

When it comes to balayage, we are a little biased (or obsessed) but who doesn't like having sun kissed hair all year round? For winter, the perfect way to warm up your locks is with a golden auburn balayage. Suddenly, your hair has depth and life again!

3. Face Framing Highlights

Perhaps our favourite winter hair trend of 2020, face framing highlights are magic - this small change can impact your colour in a big way. Not only do they give your hair added depth, they also help make your skin look brighter (something we could all do with in this dry weather).

4. Classic Bob

Maybe it was all the DIY lockdown cuts that had to be rectified, but lobs and bobs are IN. Paired with a loose wave for a little texture and you have the perfect winter wonderland hair.

5. Copper Delight

The perfect colour to warm you up this winter. If you're looking to do something different with your colour this winter, but still want to keep it natural, an all over copper might be a great choice for you.
For the more bold, copper makes a great addition to a creative colour! Colour blocking has been so popular this year (as you can see in the photo above).

6. Shiny Hair

One of the biggest trends of the year has simply been healthy hair. Maybe it's all that time we had in various lockdowns to sit with conditioner soaked hair, or maybe it's just the lack using of styling tools this year, but healthy hair has been on show this year.
The best way to take keep your hair looking bright and healthy is using the correct products. Always chat to your stylists and see what they recommend for your hair type.
